Now that's what I meant by "wow me!"

I love British folk rock, but I have to admit, I haven't gone nearly as deep with Lindisfarne as I have with Pentangle, Steeleye Span or Fairport Convention and its offshoots. I'll have to correct that.

First band I thought of when I got "L."

Well, the first thing that came to mind, and fairly quickly was Emerson, Lake & Palmer, followed by Electric Light Orchestra. Try as I might, nothing whatsoever came after those two, so I headed to the library convinced I'd find at least several more.

Uhhm, not? After locating several ELP discs, the next thing after was the start of a large cluster of John Fahey albums. Really? No other 'E's?

The only other thing some additional searching turned up is debatable as to its admissibility-- The Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman.

Can one call this a band, if Hyman works with a synthesizer programmer to make his tunes happen?

Heh... cutting edge electronic music in its day! And... radio stations of the day-- especially AM stations-- were sometimes reluctant to play it because it was "too long" with it's over seven minute run time!

Oh, man... how one person's innovation can drive other persons-- audiophiles in this case-- bonkers. "Ping-Pong Stereo"-- Eccccchhhh!!! Not what stereo is supposed to be about, no sirree. But it took decades before that was widely understood by many recording artists outside of the classical field.
